Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long to I need to wait for the mattress to recover, after it is unpacked?

When the sealed bag is opened, the mattress will rise quickly. After opening, the mattress will recover 80-90% and the rest will take 1-3 days to rise completely. However, you can still use the mattress right away. You will also notice some wrinkles and round corners, which will go away after a few days.

2. When I open my mattress, I can smell some distinct odor. What is that odor and is this normal?

Keetsa strives to make each of our products as comfortable and eco-friendly as possible. In an effort to do so, we utilize natural elements, such as Castor Bean Oil, extract of Green Tea, Bamboo and untreated Cotton. All of these natural elements, along with the other materials used to make a Keetsa mattress, will produce a unique scent that is completely harmless and will dissipate in strength over the course of a few days. If you find you are sensitive to the scent, it is recommended that you remove any outer bedding or covering and open windows to allow fresh air ventilation into the room to speed the dissipation of the scent.

3. What do I do with my old mattress?

Recycle!! If the mattress is not very old and in great shape, donate it to a needy family or a homeless shelter. If it is very old and dirty, unfortunately, until there is a recycling center that can handle mattresses, it may end up in a landfill for health reasons. Just know that your new mattress has been made from recycled and recyclable materials.
